Very rare set of four minimalist dining chairs, made in the 1980s by Westnofa and designed by Thorstein Nilsen. Chic design with red upholstery, silver-colored tubular frame, and black lacquered wood. The examples we have in stock bear a strong resemblance to the better-known Totem model, but the bases are different. The chairs have an organically curved chrome-plated tubular frame base in a sled shape. The red fabric-covered seat rests on this base. As with the Totem model, the backrest is made from a single piece of plywood, which forms the slats. The slats are held apart at the top by wooden balls. One chair is in good used condition, with slight signs of wear on the backrests (see photos). We have polished the chrome parts of the base, and they look neat. We have carefully cleaned the red upholstery, and the foam underneath is firm. The set is ready for immediate use. We only sell the chairs in sets of four, not individually. Height 88.5 cm Seat height 42.5 cm Width 48.5 cm Depth 47 cm. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
