A set of six shield back dining chairs (five side chairs and one armchair) made in the 1930’s by Macy��s of New York. Shield shaped seat backs are beveled, with a pierced back splat simply carved with scrolls and swag details. Trapezoid shaped seats with serpentine fronts are covered with original green cotton velvet. Square chair legs finish in arrow feet and are supported with H-stretchers. Each side chair measures 21.5"W, armchair measures 23.5"W, arm height 27", seat height 19".
