Expertly refinished walnut burl octagonal dining table on split pedestal base, made by Baker in the United States c. 1980s. The surface comprises warm walnut color with wildly figured grain patterns, hemmed in by a cherrywood border. With the two included leaves it expands from a 48" octagon to just under 8 feet in length, accommodating 10 guests with ease. The optional 5th leg can be deployed to support the center at expanded sizes. A functionally and stylistically versatile piece that combines elements of mid century and art deco design.
