This extendable dining table originates from former Czechoslovakia and was likely produced in the 1950s. It was designed by Jindrich Halabala and manufactured by UP Zavody. A special detail is the inlaid checkerboard pattern on the top. To extend the table, simply open one leaf; the other side slides along automatically, and the middle section can then be extended 45 centimeters. This gives the table a maximum length of 164 centimeters. The entire piece has a new high-gloss finish. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
