MAISON JANSEN (founded in 1880) - Dining table model 'Royal', c. 1960. Folding and opening table in two parts with a tilting top, accompanied by two extensions, all black lacquered. The top rests on 10 legs with casters, gunmetal patina and gold varnished brass rings. It was designed and made for the French actress Jacqueline DELUBAC (1907-1997) around 1950, who did not like dining room tables. The particularity of this table is to be foldable and to have extensions to place in the middle to enlarge it. This table is one of the emblematic pieces of the House of JANSEN whose production for this model is limited to one hundred copies. NB : A table of the same model as the one we present was photographed in situ in the Parisian dining room of Suzy and Pierre DELBEE, director of the House of JANSEN, in J.Archer-Abbot, Jansen, Acanthus press, New York, 2006, p. 182-183 (for the same model). A reference to this model is also made in P. Favardin & G. Bloch-Champfort, Les décorateurs des années 60-70, Paris, 2007, pp. 220-221.
