Henredon Fliptop Console Dining Table Vintage console/dining table by high-end maker Henredon, dating to the mid 20th century. Crafted from a combination of walnut and oak, it’s designed to function as a console or dining table, with a wide top supported on either end by turned pedestal bases. The base is constructed in an “I” form with a stretcher for added stability and visual balance. A standout feature: the top flips open into a dining table (and could also work as a buffet or serving table). Brass hinges run across the back, and once opened, the top slides to the center of the base, creating a practical surface for eating, entertaining, or serving. When closed, the top displays beautifully cut oak veneers. When opened, the top surface is walnut, and the outer edges create a crisp oak-banded border. The baluster-style bases are turned solid walnut, while the feet and stretcher are walnut with oak on the top flat surface—stained to coordinate with only a subtle, intentional variation between the woods.
