Mid-Century, Extendable Rosewood Dining Table With Butterfly Leaf, 1960s

Chairish

$888

Mid-century, vintage, round, Scandinavian-Modern style, extendable dining room table from the 1960's. This beautiful table is made of wood with a rosewood veneer and lacquered finish on the top, spindle-shaped legs, and a 48.5 cm butterfly leaf extension, allowing it to go from a round shape and an unopened size of 120 cm, to a 168.50 cm oval shape, to comfortably seat between 4 and 6 people (please see photos for variations.) To open and extend the table, simply unlock the 2 hooks under the the tabletop, gently slide open and slowly unfold the butterfly leaf extension, then gently guide each end towards the leaf, until firmly into position. Then lock the table top with the four hooks, (two under the top and two under the extension.) The table is in very good, original and vintage condition, with some slight traces of use, marks and signs of age commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the top, edging, leaf extension and legs. (Please refer to close-up photos where we have placed a 1 centime coin, for perspective.) The legs of this table are removable if one needs to move it from one room to another. The feet pads are original. All photos taken in natural light, so colors may slightly vary, based upon the light, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
