A classic 1940s tropical Mid-Century Modern mahogany top and double pedestal bamboo wrapped table in the style of Paul Frankl. The rectangular table is supported by a single bamboo-stacked pedestal that supports the substantial top. The pedestal features 30 bamboo strands that are firmly wrapped around a wooden base. The wooden top can be removed from the pedestals for moving. The versatile table can be used as a small dining table, in an entry hall or library, as a vanity table, or as an accent table in a living room. The original owner reports that the table was brought to Miami in the 1940's from the Philippines- a source of well-regarded tropical modern furniture. The table is in excellent condition and comes from a single owner West Palm Beach estate. The table was maintained in an air conditioned environment and was covered to maintain its good condition. There is a small area of lost varnish near one edge of the table. No maker's mark was found. Dimensions: 72" W X 40" D X 30" H.
