Walnut and stainless steel dining table by London-based furniture designer George Ciancimino for Risom Design Inc, made in the USA c. 1970s. The round top has four cutouts to accommodate extruded steel cloverleaf leg posts, a highly distinctive element of design that appeared in a number of Ciancimino's pieces. The legs are connected by aluminum stretcher bars which form the apron of the table, making the frame exceptionally sturdy. We love this design because it shows the extent to which a slight edit can take an object as commonplace as a circle and make it appear to be something completely novel.
