A gateleg drop-leaf table in solid oak, stamped Thos Turner, Manchester, an English manufacturer active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The oval top is made of wide planks with a characteristic medullary grain of quality oak. The base consists of a fixed central frame flanked by two pivoting drop leaves mounted on barley twist legs, a typical motif of the English Jacobean and William & Mary styles. Two drawers are fitted to the central frame, which is equipped with a Rococo-style brass handle. The wood patina is original. The table has been restored and is in excellent overall condition, requiring no further work. Dimensions: H. 75 cm – W. 120 cm – Estimated weight: 60 kg.
