Antique Federal Period New England Tiger Maple & Cherry Dropleaf Dining Table

Chairish

$3,650

With our absolute highest compliments Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering this incredible antique dining table. This table is an exceptional and rare example of a rural New England dropleaf table constructed during the later 18th century. In the countryside, the oldest growths of tiger maple lumber could be harvested particularly in The Connecticut River Valley up through New Hampshire and Vermont. This table features a top that is comprised of the absolute boldest and most illustrious figured tiger maple grained boards available at any point in the past. The table is continued with a base featuring a boldly figured tiger maple apron and six expertly turned cherry legs. Two of these legs serve as "gatelegs" with the ability to swing outward past ninety degrees to support the dropleaf table ends from beneath. We are immensely proud to offer this table as it truly is among the most beautiful antique dropleaf tables which we have come to own. With both tiger maple dropleaf ends hinged upwards the entire dining room table expands to a width of 54 3/4". The table is 40 1/2" long x 20 1/2" wide with both leaves downward. This table stands 28 3/4" tall off the ground.
