Seats and backrests are bolted onto a welded frame, resulting in a structure that appears, paradoxically, both assertive and ethereal.This design seeks to subtract material in order to reveal form. The angled profile draws itself through absence — a negative space, a void column. The reflective quality of the aluminum sheets for seat and backrest renders them visually detached from the structure, as if suspended.In contrast to this apparent instability and the rawness of exposed cuts, the CANTO pieces — chair and stool — offer surprising comfort.
