Dining Table In Solid Bookmatched Mahogany, Custom Made By Petersen Antiques

This dining table is made from solid, book-matched African mahogany. Both the top and the legs are book-matched to create a perfectly symmetrical pattern in the wood grain. We designed this table in collaboration with Lauren Gurwich, and with a nod to Edward Wormley, our client, a devoted surfer who loves the ocean and wanted his passions reflected in the table. We mimicked the shape of a longboard and the curl of a wave to complete this exquisite beach-side dining room. We named this table the "Lewis Table" in honor of our gracious patron.This table is fully collapsible for easy transport and placement. The two horizontal 'apron' pieces slot into corresponding slots in the top of the legs to complete the base before the top slides into place. No tools, instructions, or effort required. We generally avoid the use of veneers and metal fasteners, particularly in close proximity to the ocean. The only metal we used is the marine grade brass in the feet.The table shown here is 126 in. x 42 in. x 30 in. H., however it can be ordered in any size. The legs taper down to a 3/4 in. wide, 3/4 in. high brass footing. It is finished in a maintenance free, low sheen, lacquer. Because this table is handmade in our own workshop in Los Angeles, it can be ordered in any size, wood species and finish.
