Model FD20/59 solid teak gate-leg dining table with brass fittings designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Son, Denmark in 1951. Celebrated for their elegant engineering and clean modern lines, Hvidt & Mølgaard-Nielsen’s work is instantly recognisable and this table is a wonderful example. This table is in very good condition, but does have a circular burn mark in the centre (see photo). This is a versatile and highly collectable piece, with it's original France & Son makers sticker on the underside of the table, blanching architectural presence with everyday usability.
