A 19th century French farmhouse table, whose robust design is a practical solution for the modern kitchen to pivot between dining and preparation. The beech wood top is 2 ½” thick, already well-patinated so one need not worry about the quality of their knife skills. A single drawer in the apron which spans the full depth easily glides forward and back to access the contents from either side. Projecting from the apron of the table on each short side are wooden pegs that could be gently used or appreciated as a unique decorative element. Thick, oak legs braced with an H-form stretcher support the mass of the table, which could be slightly raised to a more comfortable height as an island. This unique work table has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve and protect every feature. Please view the detailed images for the current condition.
