Archaic’s French farmhouse dining tables are built to order from reclaimed vintage lumber, carrying forward the integrity and character of aged hardwood. Crafted in a primitive, old-world style, each table is constructed with traditional joinery—mortise and tenon or wooden pins—with no visible modern hardware. We work with a curated selection of reclaimed woods, chosen for their natural grain and history: walnut, red and white oak, river birch, cypress, pecky-cypress, heart pine, elm, and butternut. Each board tells its own story—marked with nail holes, saw traces, and subtle burn marks—giving every finished piece a sense of age and authenticity. The tabletop is smoothed just enough for everyday use but retains its rugged, handcrafted charm. We finish with Rubio Monocoat, a food-safe, eco-friendly clear oil that protects the wood without masking its natural color and depth. The example shown here measures 84” L x 38” D x 30” H.
