French table made in the 18th century French Provincial This type of table had a triple function: - it could be used to store flour and knead bread (which is why the top can be removed) - the cabinet was used to store bread: storing bread in a cabinet meant it could be kept much longer. The trapdoor made it easy to take out and put away at mealtimes. - finally, this table was used to bring the whole family together for dinner. The top is walnut, while the rest of the cabinet is oak. This craftsmanship has ensured that this table has stood the test of time. Our cabinetmaker has spent time renovating this table, replacing or consolidating boards while preserving the marks of its history. Legroom 21.25 in. (54 cm) 77 / 159 / 79 cm 63.4 kg.
