1960's original french t55 tolix rectangular dining table - 160cm (model 1330). Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 frenchman xavier pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic café chair of all time, the tolix model a, designed in 1934. Tolix used their metal working skill to also produce exquisitely designed but practical café/dining tables to partner their chairs. The t55 is the iconic tolix table and this is an unusual and practical 160cm size. This table comes in a beautiful soft sky blue paint with hints of overpainting, giving the most exceptional character. Knee height: 62cm.
