Evidence of its use as a work table is visible in the deep scars along the edges. Features: Constructed with a massive, single-plank solid wood tabletop featuring highly figured central grain and a rich, historic patina. The base consists of two beautifully hand-carved lyre-form trestle supports joined by an elegant, decorative pair of hand-forged scrolled wrought iron stretchers. Shows excellent character wear and historical markings consistent with its age and an oral history of monastery use. Completely structurally sound.
