Musa Table, A Sculptural Piece With Top In Onyx Or Marble 130

Inspired by the lithesome forms of classical sculpture and by Hans Arp’s smooth and powerful curves, the tables of the Musa series are characterised by the important plinth base with a slight oval section. Thanks to an accurate study of joints and balances, the base supports a series of different sized cantilevered tops in marble. Ombra, Fumo and bronzo in “Silk” or high gloss finish are the three colours of special lacquer, exclusive to CASA CASATI, for the base and the underside of the top. The richness of tones, the absence of straight lines, and the fluidity of the curve show the simplicity of the design and the beauty of the precious marble tops, the edges gently curved as a perfect complement to the structure.The finishes inspired by the works of Arp and Moore are what give a “human” quality to a piece crafted from abstraction. The finish on the Musa is created by applying two layers of overlapping color, which are then partially removed by hand so as to create the desired effect of depth. It’s a highly delicate process, because just one moment of distraction, just one stroke too many, and the piece is irretrievably ruined, and you need to start all over again.Musa can be used as a dining table, but it can also be a decorative piece for a transit room in the apartment.
