Charles Dudouyt (1885–1946) was one of the great French furniture designers of the 1930s and 40s. He modernized the rustic style with sculpted volumes, exposed joinery, and geometric patterns. His furniture, often made of solid oak, emphasizes the material and the craftsmanship, eschewing superficial embellishments for a straightforward and timeless elegance.
