We tend to perceive symmetrical things as beautiful.‎ One challenge therefore is to create something beautiful that does not follow the principle of symmetry.‎ We've done everything possible to combine asymmetry with our unique, custom-made pieces.‎ The result of these efforts is OIA; MAZANLI's answer to clumsy dining tables that just "fill" a room.‎OIA was named for its beauty after a small village on the Greek island of Santorini.‎ As a true eye-catcher, it will immediately cast a spell over you and your guests.‎ The interplay of the metal structure of the table forms the Greek letter "Lambda".‎The sense of weightlessness is made possible by the use of thin but highly robust square tubes (2 cm x 2 cm) made from high quality German Kruppstahl.‎ The steel used is untreated and develops a unique patina over time, depending on the surrounding climate.‎ The RAK dining table is also available in white or black powdered steel, however.‎OIA means highest standard and true contemporary minimalist Berlin design.‎The tabletop is 2 cm thick and is made of high-quality oak wood (up to 13 slats).‎ The tabletop is then oiled by hand.‎The metal base is completely welded and will be delivered in one piece.‎Our masterpiece: In addition to the "standard version" of the table, we also offer a special version called "OIA HIGH".‎ This version comes with a 3 cm thick oak wood tabletop (up to 4 slats), through which runs a highly polished epoxy resin element.‎ Due to the extreme level of polishing, the epoxy inlay looks like glass.‎ This allows to see the wood structure / growth rings on both sides in great detail.‎ It is reminiscent of a canyon with thunderous masses of water.‎ The effect is breath taking and a true masterpiece made by our master joiner.‎Important note: The untreated steel version is indeed untreated.‎ This means it will have scratches, signs of the welding (including "rainbow effect") will clearly be visible and the steel will develop a patina over time (i.‎e.‎ the steel will show signs of rust).‎ This is all intended and part of the design of the product.‎ If the aforementioned effects are not desirable, please choose the black or white powder coated versions of this product.‎ These are protected and do not develop a patina.‎
