The contemporary Berlin design enchants by the economical use of material. The clear, symmetrical shape, right angles, and omitting unnecessary parts produce an impression of weightlesness. This is achieved by the welding of thin but tough square tubes (2cm x 2cm) made of Krupp steel. The frame of the table is fully welded. It is, therefore, delivered complete in one piece, and there is not a single screw involved. The table top surface is 2 cm thick, made of high-quality oak and then oiled by hand. Please note: The untreated steel version is really untreated. Scratches and all signs of welding (including the "rainbow effect" with iridescent colours) are clearly visible. In addition, the steel develops a patina over time that also includes rust. All this is intended and part of the design. If the mentioned effects are undesirable, we recommend choosing the powder-coated version in black or white as these are protected and do not develop a patina.
