Outdoor Concrete Dining Table With Organic Top By Nico Yektai

The Shore dining table was born of a desire to design a concrete outdoor table that was unlike anything I had seen. I wanted to find a way to introduce some freedom and spontaneity into the composition of the cast concrete top. I found a way to pinch and push what could have been a perfect circle into an expressive organic experience. The inns and outs of the table tops suggest places where people can comfortably sit. They also give people an excuse to caress the edge of the table as they circulate experiencing these movements. I did not want the experience to stop at the table top so I designed the base to mimic that freedom in terms of the word and the cast concrete of the foot. Those two elements are bridged with stainless steel members that meet to and equally complex stainless plateThe concrete table top is finished with an industrial finish that resists staining and etching.
