Osvaldo Borsani and Eugenio Gerli for Tecno round dining table in Walnut and Steel Italy, 1965. This is a round dining table made from walnut and steel by Osvaldo Borsani and Eugenio Gerli for Tecno in Italy in 1965. The table's base is its most unique feature, consisting of four C-shaped legs that form a fascinating cross with a biomorphic entity. It has a brushed metal exterior and a black enameled interior. The top of the table is round, exhibiting the wood's natural grain and a lovely brown-red color. Osvaldo Borsani was an Italian designer and architect who grew up in a family of fine furniture makers in Varedo. He joined his father's furniture shop, Atelier di Varedo, at 16, which was involved in designing and furnishing homes inspired by the Italian Art Deco movement. Borsani's collaboration with avant-garde artists from various artistic disciplines resulted in creation of high-quality furniture and interior design projects. In 1953, he co-founded Tecno with his twin brother, Fulgenzio Borsani, a design and manufacturing company that produced items based on mechanical innovations and refined technicality. Tecno's innovative design and craftsmanship were mainly dedicated to the post-war Italian office world. Borsani's diverse and sophisticated oeuvre is shown in permanent collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
