Made from powder-coated steel and glass, and available as coffee tables, desks, dining tables, or consoles, the Frame tables were designed by Swiss duo Thévoz-Choquet around a series of intersecting geometries. Inspired by Fred Sandback’s volume studies and the perception of negative space, colorful steel frames generate volumes in deliberately minimal compositions. The colors in each base can be customized on demand. The Frame console table is part of Sight Unseen first-ever furniture collection, creative directed by Sight Unseen founders Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer and produced in collaboration with Bestcase, a Long Island furniture brand specializing in sheet metal. For the collection, Sight Unseen commissioned four international designers to create five works, all rendered in various types of metal. The full edition is meant for both the contract and residential market. The aim of the collection is to showcase the possibilities of industrially produced metal through designs that channel Sight Unseen’s preference for works that are simple yet visually striking. With their metal profiles softened by curvaceous geometries, contrasting materials, and playful colors, all five pieces could feel at home in any living room or hotel suite.
