Vintage French T55 Dining Table From Tolix, 1950s

Chairish

$858

1950's original French T55 Tolix rectangular cafe - kitchen - dining table. Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic cafe chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. Tolix used their metal working skill to also produce exquisitely designed but practical cafe/dining table to partner their chairs. This Tolix model features folded sheet steel legs with a very subtly patterned laminate top. The table is in exceptional original condition throughout. Date:1950's Maker:Tolix – France Dimensions:52cm(w) x 88cm(l) x 75cm(h) This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
