A circa 1920 hand painted cast iron door stop figural depicting an old salt fisherman wearing a yellow slicker raincoat and holding a fishing net. Wonderful old original painted surface in very good condition. Although paint is chipped and flaked in some areas, the colors are bright as when new. This door stop was displayed indoors, away from the elements. These doorstops were cast in two parts and held together via a screw through the back. They are considerably rare compared to their bookend mates. Measures approximately 10 1/2 inches tall. Weight 7.5 lbs.
