This handmade antique knocker was sourced in Bodrum, Turkey (formerly Halicarnassus) and has a back plate with two protruding prongs that would be hammered into a door and also has a long screw that comes out of the back of the knocker portion and which goes through the knocker plate when mounting the screw. This is a lovely historical piece.
