Mid-century modern double dresser with six drawers attributed to Jack Cartwright. Classic midcentury design in a beautiful rich dark walnut. The black pulls are original. Rapid Furniture in Boston was a well-known wholesale showroom and distributor at 90 Canal Street, active from at least the 1920s through the mid-20th century, supplying high-quality lines to dealers and decorators across New England. They must have marketed this piece in the mid 1950s.
