Crafted in Lyon, France circa 1760, this elegant commode exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of the Louis XV period. Built of solid Walnut, the serpentine chest stands on graceful escargot feet over a scalloped apron, and features paneled sides and a molded top with a gentle serpentine front. The three hand-carved bombe drawers are adorned with recessed panels and dressed with the original gilt-bronze rocaille handles and matching escutcheons.
