A fine 18th century French Louis XVI marquetry commode, or chest of drawers, with bookmatched and inlaid veneers of walnut, mahogany, cherry and ebony. Oak and pine as secondary woods. French polish finish with nice shiny luster. Three dovetailed drawers with original brass ring pulls. Newer locks in working condition with one key. Original St. Anne grey and white veined marble top with shaped edge. Nice proportions with sturdy tapered legs. Pegged construction with mortise and tenon joints. In great condition for an antique over 200 years of age. Restoration on the back left corner of the marble. Minor veneer loss and replacements.
