Neoclassical commode hand-made in Italy in the late 1700s using pine and decorated with walnut veneer with satinwood inlay. The chest of drawers features extremely straight lines and sits on long, tapered feet. Three inset drawers can be seen on the. front, all decorated with beautiful herring bone walnut veneer framed by geometric satinwood veneer. The pattern is repeated on the top and sides, giving a nice balance to the piece and gorgeous decoration. The hardware is not original to the piece but fits the style perfectly. Overall this is a beautiful, elegant piece that is highly decorative and most definitely one of a kind. The bleaching process helped bringing out the beautiful grain of the walnut and really make the inlaid satinwood pop. This piece will look great in a bedroom as well as an elegant entryway.
