1970s Brazilian Rosewood Gentleman's Dresser Chest By Westnofa Sweden, Attributed

Chairish

$4,500

Scandinavian Modernism represents a body of work that has had a tremendous impact on furniture design. Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian designers and manufacturers placed great importance on material, form, and simplicity, creating pieces that remain influential today. One of Norway’s great exporters, Westnofa (West Norway Factories), helped share Scandinavian design with the world. We love Brazilian rosewood for both its rarity and its striking appearance. We aim to collect exceptional examples of modern design featuring rosewood, preserving these pieces and passing them on to clients who will appreciate them for generations to come. This handsome fourteen-drawer Gentleman’s Chest by Westnofa showcases beautifully figured rosewood grain from every angle. On the left, seven drawers are faced in richly patterned rosewood. On the right, a pair of cabinet doors opens to reveal an additional bank of drawers, together providing ample storage for clothing and personal belongings. This chest is part of a matching Westnofa rosewood suite that also includes a pair of nightstands, a dresser, and a queen-size headboard. While these pieces are not marked or stamped with the manufacturer's name, based on research they are Westnofa.
