An antique American Chippendale style curly maple (also called tiger or figured maple) chest on stand from the 19th century. This curly maple highboy has five dovetailed graduated drawers with original pierced batwing brass handles and escutcheon, the top three drawers once locked. It has a cove molding at the top and rests on a later stand with hand carved cabriole legs.
