19th century oak commode from France with a beveled edge around the top over simple paneled sides and four paneled and hand carved decorated drawers in the front. The drawers have central shield carvings, surrounded by carved acanthus leaves and the drawers are flanked by hand turned barley twist columns, over a wonderfully molded and carved base. The case is supported on hand turned bun feet in the front and simple feet in the back for easy placement against a wall.
