A French Neoclassic style painted wood two-drawer chest from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped top, which slightly overhangs the case below, which houses two drawers (each fitted with lovely neoclassical style rings pulls and a wreathed escutcheon at their center), and is raised on tapering squared legs. The piece is adorned with fluted front side posts, and a flute carved plaque which drops down at front/center skirt. There is a new custom finish in tan with deep charcoal which gives this piece its striking two-tone appearance. This 19th century French chest would make a useful decorative storage piece, great for bedroom, or perhaps an accent console style case for your foyer or living room.
