19th century walnut and Hungarian ash chest from England. This is an incredible chest! The top of the chest is made from a single plank of walnut, which has lovely graining and color. The edges are beveled and molded for added detail. The top follows down to simple sides, also made of single boards. The from top the case has two over three drawer configuration, all with the Hungarian Ash drawer fronts. The use of Hungarian Ash gives the chest a much richer look, as it is unusually grained and almost looks like folded linen. the case is raised on bracket feet, for an overall elegance. This chest is extremely high quality, and was most certainly a bespoke piece because of the use of the wider single boards and the fabulous contrast of the Hungarian Ash drawer fronts.
