Large French-made chest of drawers, late 19th century. Solid wood frame, walnut top and sides. The front is entirely covered in burr walnut veneer, cut from a single plank; symmetrical pattern. The top is not original, with chamfered corners at the front, and is made of solid walnut. Five white wood drawers, dovetailed. Burr walnut fronts with continuous, aligned patterns. Bronze keyhole escutcheon with chased floral details. Wide legs, clad in Louis Philippe style wood. Paneled wood back and bottom. Note the non-functional top lock. One key is included. The piece has been fully treated against insects, is unaffected, sound, stable, and solid. Interior dimensions of the drawers: Width identical to all: 89 cm. Depth: 43 cm.
