This is a genuine 19th century campaign chest in the truest sense: two independent sections that stack and align on wooden pegs, with recessed brass flush pulls, corner brass strapping, and iron side carrying handles on each section designed for transport by military or colonial officers. The turned bun feet are a classic Anglo-Indian detail, and the warm teak construction has developed a deep, honest patina that no reproduction comes close to replicating. Measures 42.5 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 41.25 inches tall. Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear throughout, including general surface wear to the top and scattered scuffs and scratches to the faces consistent with well over a century of use.
