This handsome tall chest was once the top part of a high boy or chest on chest, but it was separated from its base. A skilled craftsperson gave it new life by adding well-constructed, period appropriate feet. With cherry primary wood, poplar secondary, and exposed dovetails on the drawer-blades, this piece is from New England. It has the clean lines, bracket feet and top molding of the Neoclassical style popular in the early 1800s. With plenty of space for storage but a narrower width than many antique pieces of this height, this tall chest has grace and versatility.
