The case is surmounted by a gray marble top with rounded front corners and molded edge. The three-drawer form features hand-cut dovetail drawer construction, original escutcheons, and a restrained silhouette characteristic of the Louis Philippe period. The veneer displays striking flame and burl walnut patterns, creating a highly decorative façade while maintaining the elegant simplicity favored during the reign of Louis Philippe. Raised on molded feet with paneled sides and retaining an attractive warm patina developed over more than a century and a half. Presents beautifully with age-appropriate wear, minor veneer separations and shrinkage lines to the side panels consistent with age and use.
