Danish 1960s chest of drawers in beech and teak, produced by Karl Andersson & Söner, with sculpted cone handles. Danish chest of drawers designed by Børge Mogensen and produced by Karl Andersson & Söner, made of beech with teak fronts. The contrast between the clear simplicity of the structure and the warm depth of the drawers underscores the rational and material approach of the project. The design is solid and classic, with compact volumes and a solid base that lends visual stability and a sense of solidity. The sculpted cone handles, turned directly into the wood, emerge like small sculptural elements. Børge Mogensen was one of the leading exponents of postwar Danish modernism. Trained at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts and collaborating with Kaare Klint, he developed a design concept based on functionality, proportion, and durability. For Mogensen, furniture had to be democratic, solid, and designed for everyday use. Good condition. May show signs of wear. Please carefully examine the photographs.
