Beautiful American / New England Sheraton Chest of Drawers in its original condition. A beautiful and authentic piece of American history, this exceptional Country / New England Sheraton four-drawer chest dates back to the early-to-mid 19th century (circa 1820–1845). Exhibiting the wonderful hallmarks of pre-industrial, hand-crafted cabinetmaking, this chest balances timeless, clean lines with warm, rustic elegance. It is perfectly proportioned to serve as a bedroom dresser, entry console, or statement piece in a living space. The top does have some decent wear (see photos - can send more if you would like) and use from being used over the years but it just adds to its character. The rest of the dresser is in great condition for age and has normal wear throughout. All of the four locks work and comes with the skeleton key. All drawers slide easily. Lovely turned feet Brass hardware It measures ~41.5" wide x ~19.75" deep x ~41" tall Craftsmanship & Details Construction: Truly an artisan piece, the drawers feature gorgeous, authentic hand-cut dovetail joints. The back is constructed from wide, hand-planed horizontal wood planks, complete with a hand-gouged structural pocket detail. Design & Hardware: Features four flush-front, smooth-gliding drawers adorned with period-correct round brass concentric-circle knobs and inset brass keyhole escutcheons. The bottom is accented by a charming, subtly scalloped front apron resting on classic short turned peg feet. Wood & Finish: Crafted from solid premium hardwood (likely cherry or walnut) boasting a rich, glowing reddish-brown patina that beautifully highlights the natural grain. *All of my items are used or vintage pieces that have wear that is consistent with age.
