An early 19th century Swedish commode in the Gustavian style. It is a very pleasing smaller size excellent as a bed side stand or entry console. The wonderful blue base is highlighted by the antique white faux marble top. The design elements are exceptional with a garland decoration on the top drawer, a highly unusual continuous chain molding under the top and ribbed chamfered front corners. While the top drawer never had a lock, the two full sized bottom drawers retain their original working locks with keys. It was found near Stockholm.
