Provincial four-drawer chest of drawers with ‘en arbalète’ front. Louis XV style, early 19th century. Crafted from solid oak. Ready for use with a natural finish. Oak body crafted using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, with side panelling and mouldings, featuring a curved ‘en arbalète’ front, matching top panel and rounded corners, as well as a base apron with multiple curves. Four large drawers with carved frame-style fronts and a solid body that runs on grooved rails. Dimensions Height: 104.5 cm / 41.14 in. Width: 134.5 cm / 52.95 in. Depth: 59.5 cm / 23.43 in. Internal dimensions of drawers: 16 cm high, 114 cm wide, 50 cm deep  / 6.30 in high, 44.88 in wide, 19.69 in deep. In good condition, ready for everyday use, with slight age-related signs of wear and minor visible repairs. The brass fittings and locks are not original. Added keys. The surface has been stripped of its dark finish and carefully sanded, allowing the beautiful grain and texture of the old oak to emerge in a light, unsealed finish.
