Mid-20th-century Italian chest of drawers. Finely veneered and inlaid with geometric decorations in walnut, rosewood, maple, ebonized wood, beech, and fruitwood, this Louis XVI-style commode features three drawers, two of which are generously sized at the bottom. The top drawer conceals an inlaid writing surface and six small drawers (see photo). The finely crafted top is of good size and practicality. The dresser rests on four solid legs inlaid with an inverted truncated pyramid shape (see photo). This well-proportioned chest of drawers is ideal for a bedroom or living room, for antique dealers, and for interior decorators. It shows some signs of age and small veneer peeling (see photo). Structurally sound and solid, overall in good condition.
