Beautiful cherry chest of drawers with inlay works from the late 18th century in Austria around 1790. This over 230 year old commode from the so-called "Josephinism" era - a period named after Emperor Joseph II. - impresses with its great looking design. Fine mirror matched cherrywood veneer was set in a fantastic manner and especially emphasized by inlaid ebonized plumwood/ maple frames all over the dresser. (some are slightly bleached) The elaborately crafted antique chest of drawers provides three large drawers offering a lot of space. All drawers still keep the original and fully functionable locks. Adorned by lovely brass fittings, this gorgeous, late 18th century commode has been refurbished about 15 years ago and is still in a great "ready to live", old restored condition.
