An early 19th century Northern Italian Baroque chest of draws. Italian 3-drawer serpentine walnut commode with parquetry inlay and bun feet. Wonderful color and patina. The commode has gorgeous veneer and marquetry patterns. A combination of different walnut veneer grains create an individual design on front, sides and top. Additional curved inlays made of rosewood decorate the top of the chest. Furthermore, the original bronze escutcheons and handles with floral patterns embellish the three drawers.
