A substantial continental chest of drawers or commode in burr walnut with a gently over sailing original marble top. The grey and white flecked marble has subtlety carved lines to the outer edge with rounded corners. The chest has an arrangement of three wide and spacious drawers with a larger ‘secret’ frieze drawer beneath the marble top. The sturdy plinth base is supported on proud shapely turned feet to the front. Brass locks and keys only enhance this splendid cabinet. The colour and grain featured in this louis philippe i period chest of drawers is exceptional and possibly the best example we have been fortunate enough to have within the collection.
